Cela faisait longtemps que la légende vivante, Roger Daltrey, chanteur des WHO, n'avait pas défrayé la chronique avec une telle verve. Dans les années 60 et 70 lui et ses frères d'armes au sein du groupe mythique s'en donnaient à coeur joie.
Dans une interview accordée à un tabloïd trash du Royaume-Uni, Daltrey a attaqué le groupe U2 quand il a appris que le groupe Irlandais ne payait pas ses impôts en Irlande mais en Hollande. Bien que The Edge nie être un évadé fiscal, Roger Daltrey ne l'a pas épargné : "Je trouve ça très intéressant que quelqu’un qui prône le socialisme refuse de payer pour un État socialiste !"
Puis Roger Daltrey s'en est pris aux conservateurs à propos de leur politique concernant l'immigration en déclarant que leurs représentants avaient "la tête dans le cul" à propos des issues que l'immigration massive implique. Cette déclaration survient quelques semaines après qu'il s'en soit pris aux travaillistes qu'il avait accusé d'avoir "ouvert les portes du déluge immigrationniste" et d'avoir, littéralement, "massacré la classe ouvrière"... C'est qu'en digne "Working Class Hero", Roger Daltrey se souvient qui il est et d'où il vient...
